Join the Maine Timber Research & Environmental Education Foundation (Maine TREE) for a research timber harvest tour at the Holt Research Forest in Arrowsic on Saturday, November 7th. This harvest is the first at the Holt Research Forest since 1988, and harvest will provide researchers an opportunity to study the impact of timber harvesting on family-owned forestland.
Tour leaders include consulting forester Barrie Brusila of Mid-Maine Forestry, logger Will Cole of Trees Ltd., and University of Maine research scientist Jack Witham. The tour will consist of a woods walk and harvest demonstration. Along the way, there will be many opportunities to ask questions.
Pre-registration is required for this event. We ask all participants to follow our COVID-19 policy for in-person events that meet CDC guidelines. When registering, you can choose from multiple tour time options, each lasting two hours. Tour start times are 9 AM, 11 AM, and 1 PM if needed.
