Certified Logging Professionals Program Updates: New Website, Improved Communications, and More!

Updated: Apr 11

The Certified Logging Professionals (CLP) program is entering an exciting new phase. With a strong focus on improving the standards in the logging industry, this program is making significant updates over the coming year. So far in 2025, we’ve launched a new website, improved our communication systems, and made training and certification more affordable. These changes, and more we have planned this year, are based on feedback from the Certified Logging Professional community and aim to equip CLPs with skills, knowledge, and resources to succeed in today’s dynamic environment.

A Fresh Digital Experience

The newly launched website is a comprehensive resource for current and prospective Certified Logging Professionals. Designed with CLPs in mind, it features a straightforward navigation system that ensures you can find the information you need, a streamlined approach to signing up for training, and the ability to request custom training and support. More updates are expected as new tools and resources become available.

Improved Program Communications

Effective communication is essential in any professional program, and the Certified Logging Professionals program is addressing this need by enhancing its communication channels.

Members can expect regular updates through newsletters, informative webinars, and active engagement on social media platforms. These initiatives will help keep everyone informed about new resources, upcoming events, and significant industry developments. This effort fosters a stronger sense of community, connecting logging professionals with their peers and industry experts.

Regular surveys will encourage member feedback, empowering participants to share their thoughts and suggestions, which will contribute to a more collaborative environment.

Reducing the Cost of Certification

The Maine Workforce Development Compact comprises Maine businesses, associations, nonprofits, and municipalities committed to working together to solve Maine’s workforce challenges. Funded through the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce, and thanks to a historic gift of $75.5 million from the Harold Alfond Foundation in June of 2024, all CLPs can receive a 50% discount on their initial or recertification fee this year. To qualify, CLPs must complete at least one hour of training provided by CLP and provide their date of birth upon registration.

Looking Ahead

Our staff, guided by the CLP Advisory Committee, is diligently working to update the program curriculum. Feedback from industry experts and collaborators will shape the curriculum, making it more engaging and practical. These updates will ensure that logging professionals are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of their roles in a rapidly evolving industry. The revised curriculum of the Certified Logging Professionals program will address the demands of modern logging practices.

There is renewed energy among its members as the Certified Logging Professionals program takes these exciting steps forward. With an emphasis on innovation, ongoing improvement, and community engagement, the program is poised to make a meaningful impact on the logging industry. The future looks bright, offering numerous opportunities for growth and excellence in the logging sector.
