About the event
Explore Project Learning Tree's Forest Literacy Framework, which translates the language of forests and sustainable forest management into multi-disciplinary concepts for grades K-12.
AND discover all the resources that Maine TREE's Forest Ecology Resource Network(FERN) has to offer. FERN is a classroom-based community science initiative that gives students grades 5-12 and their teachers an opportunity to get outside and learn about forests while developing skills in measurement, data collection, analysis, systems thinking, and comfortability outside.
This workshop emphasizes multi-disciplinary pedagogy, engaging with students about forests in a way that captures their interests and inspires them to consider forest-based careers—geared towards K-12 educators interested in learning how to engage students with the forested ecosystem outside their schools and Foresters interested in honing their community engagement skills through working with kids in K-12 classrooms.
Educators and Foresters, excluding State Foresters, are eligible to receive a $100 stipend for attending.
